Main Accountabilities:


  •  The Construction Coordinator will report to the lead mechanical Engineer to assist the management of changes in the plant,
  • The Construction Coordinator will implement the management of changes in onshore and offshore facilities, provide support to the engineering team when required,
  • The Construction Coordinator manage contractors and subcontractors as required to achieve progress of mechanical allocated projects and supervise site activities with regard to projects execution and implementation plans and schedule.
  • Provide support to maintenance and production when required and manage contractors and subcontractors as required to achieve progress of mechanical allocated projects
  • The Construction Coordinator will supervise site activities with regard to projects execution and implementation.
  • Responsible for developing, reviewing and updating method statements, lifting plans…
  • Acting as Demand Manager for construction related contracts and ensure efficient execution of these contracts from scopes, ressources and cost perspective.
  • Responsible in supporting setting up Mechanical discipline annual budget.
  • Responsible for the contracting process (scope of work, contract value estimation, Invitation to Tender process, purchase order, etc.) for construction activities.
  • Responsible for planning and executing Mechanical Engineering activities based on approved scopes of work and workpacks.

Contribution Duties:
  • Provide day-to-day constructability inputs to activities associated with facilities changes and for shutdown/turnaround related jobs (Onshore/Offshore).
  • Provide Engineering and Construction support at site for the installation of static equipment and piping work.
  • Review and specify criteria for the fabrication and erection sequences of all construction activities, including workability criteria, spading and safe isolation requirements.
  • Assess, implement and evaluate contractors’ construction techniques and HSSE plan.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the mechanical engineering construction scope.
  • Manage the implementation of the facility projects as per THE COMPANY standards.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and identify/manage construction quality and requirements.
  • Confirm mechanical completion and readiness to commence commissioning or start-up / hand Over.
  • Review and approve As-Built drawings.
  • Confirm all deliverables received and perform all close out activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity, trust and adherence to THE COMPANY HSSE requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with THE COMPANY HSSE and Quality policies, regulations and standards.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity, trust and adherence to the company HSSE requirements. HSSE responsibility shall include, but not limited to the following:
    • To be proactive in obtaining HSSE information applicable to the role from the lead Mechanical Engineer, and HSSE advisors.
    • Maintaining personal competencies applicable to position.
    • Compliance with THE COMPANY Incident Reporting Procedures.
    • To be fully responsible for own Safety, and not to endanger others.


To comply fully with THE COMPANY Environmental policy and contribute to ​​​​​​minimising any environmental impact from your daily activities.
  • To comply fully with the THE COMPANY security procedures

Authority for change / Authority over resources


  • Define and control the Business Plan and associated Budget required for Mechanical Engineering Activities.
  • Influence within Mechanical discipline engineering group including contractors / consultants / specialists to manage critical situations.

Make contributions to define THE COMPANY Engineering Standards and Procedures


Skills and Requirements


Qualifications and Experience


  • Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering Degree.
  • +10 years’ experience at delivering mechanical engineering and construction projects.
  • Proven experience within oil/gas or petrochemical process industries.
  • +5 years brownfield experience.

Skills and Competences
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical Technical Standards and Codes.
  • Proven experience in dealing with shutdowns / turnarounds.
  • Interface with discipline specific contractors to support delivery of technical requirements including participation in negotiations.
  • Ability to make effective decisions and solves problems within his/her sphere of influence taking into account any information available.

  • Fluency in English, Arabic and French - written and spoken.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, strong communication skills, understand, and work within the dynamics of a multi-functional and multi-location environment.
